Young Investigator Award

The conference will host a Young Investigator Award competition. The German Biophysical Society (DGfB) awards this prize to honor outstanding research achievements of a young investigator in the field of biophysics.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong publication record, emphasizing the quality and impact of their contributions to the field of biophysics. Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) no more than five years prior to the application deadline. Applicants who have taken career breaks (e.g., parental leave, medical leave) are encouraged to apply, with the five-year eligibility window extended accordingly. Please provide details of any career breaks in your application.

Award details:
The awardee will be invited to the conference to present their latest results in biophysical research. The lecture and award ceremony will take place during the Young Investigator Award session on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The award includes a prize of 1000 € donated by the DGfB.

Klaus Arnold Publication Prize

In honor of his contributions to the field of Biophysics and the German Biophysics Society, a group of Klaus Arnold’s friends have set up a fund to support the careers of young biophysicists (Ph.D. students and young postdoctoral researchers) in Germany. Beginning in 2012, a prize is awarded biannually by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Biophysik to the first author of an outstanding publication by a young scientist working in Germany. The prize comprises a 500 € award and a certificate presented at the National Meeting of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Biophysik. Awardees should attend the biannual meeting of the society.
